This is a remake of the original track that is part fantasy part reality of an encounter with a turtle I had many year ago.
lyrics
Set her free....
Set her free...
When she was very small, she survived the crabs and the seagulls.
In the water, she also survived the sharks and all the other animals that eat turtles.
But one day while this special turtle was eating, she became trapped in a net.
She could have managed to escape, but she would have hurt herself, as she was ill.
She decided to go to the beach, there she found some people who helped her along her way.
This is where i met the animal who i still love today.
As the turtle did not look well, i took her to my swimming pool.
The first day she was very shy, but by the third day she walked right up to me.
I called her .... JoaaQuina
Set her free...
I don't wanna leave, I don't wanna know, whats it like to be .. all alone
I don't wanna leave, I don't wanna know, whats it like to be .. all alone
I don't wanna leave, I don't wanna know, whats it like to be .. all alone
You should stay, you should go.
You should stay, you should go.
You should stay, you should go.
I don't know anymore,
I don't know what i would do... without you..
It was a very sad, but happy day, when it was time to set her free.
We both went down to the beach, and i let my dearest friend go.
I was very sad, I thought that i would never see my friend again.
The following summer, i travelled to Brazil, for my holidays.
One night , i was walking along the beach.
I saw this figure of a turtle, she looked like she was laying her eggs.
I went up to her very slowly, and to my surprise, she looked back at me.
I could not believe, it was JoaaQuina... She was going to be a mother.
